 Emergency Actions

  • Inspect the area for potential hazards (gas, electric, etc.) that could endanger you or other first responders
  • Contact TCU Police (817.257.7777) and provide the following information
  • Identify your location by providing the appropriate information:
    • building name – or closest building
    • street address
    • floor
    • office or room number
    • describe the situation, stating that this is a medical emergency
    • number of people involved
    • instruct the TCU police to bring an Automated External Defibrillator (AED) if a heart attack or heart stoppage is suspected
  • Provide on-site first aid/CPR/AED assistance up to your skill level
  • Alert other employees/students that an emergency is occurring and ask for assistance for the following:
    • Guiding TCU Police or other first responders to the scene
    • Securing the immediate area
    • Applying CPR/AED, if the individual is certified

Automated External Defibrillators

An Automated External Defibrillator (AED) program has been established by the University. For training in the use of these devices or information about a specific building AED, contact  TCU Safety and Environmental Management at 817.257.7220.
